I have to admit when I first started this article, my number one choice was going to be pizza.  No not a homemade pizza, but ordering a pizza and having it delivered.  But then I keep telling myself, that isn’t what the article is about.  10 Quick Dinner Ideas is a quick guide to easy, fast and healthy dishes you can make at home.

10 Quick Dinner IdeasI know there are a lot of recipes online, but I can never find ones that fir my lifestyle.  Being a parent, i don’t have all day to cook.  Sure they are great for single people or people who don’t have kids, but not for a family who has limited time.  We are always helping the kids with homework or running them around to different activities.  The last thing Tara or myself want to do is slave over a hot stove and not enjoy our time with the kids.

Then you do find those “quick” recipes and they want you to add about 50 different small ingredients.  sure it doesn’t take time, but I am a meat and potato type of guy.  We like burgers with lettuce, onion and ketchup.  I don’t want to add a bunch of seasoning to the meat and Kali and cucumber to my burger.  For me, a burger should taste like meat.  So with that said I tried to make a simple 10 Quick Dinner Ideas article that you and your family would enjoy.  Some of the items have side dishes, but I am sure you can figure this out for yourself and put a simple side dish together.  I really hope you share your with us also as we always like finding new things to try.

*** Important Information.  When I say 10 Quick Dinner Ideas, I am talking about prep time and not cook time.  I do have some slow cooker recipes in here which are extremely easy to make, but can take 8 hours to cook.  Crock-pot are awesome because you don’t have to watch them while they cook.  Another Note, i admit it, not everything on this list is healthy, but what the heck, we only live once.

12Super Simple Salmon

This is a very simple, but tasty dish.  The items can be found in your pantry, prep time is quick and it’s a healthy meal.  You can substitute the butter with Oil oil to make it even healthier.  Add a little rice or zucchini on the side and your are all set for a tasty and health meal.

11Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

This is a great slow cooker recipe.  This pot roast is simple, easy to prepare and is perfect to start in the morning so you have a nice meal when you get home from work.  If you like having more veggies and other stuff or you have more time, i included one of my favorite pot roast slow cooker recipes at the end of this list.  That one just takes longer to prepare, so if you have extra time, that is a perfect pot roast.

Who doesn’t love Prawns?  If I knew what they were, I would have a better answer.  After a little research, they are pretty much the same as Shrimp, so who doesn’t like shrimp?  OK, my boys don’t.  While shrimp is high in sodium, it’s also extremely high in protein.  What I like about this recipe is you can use prawns or shrimp, either will do.

9Cajun Spiced Pork Chops

I find this a tasty meal.  However it’s not for everyone, but it’s a great way to spice up your port chops.  Yes, it has a little zing to it, but if you like that in your meat you will love this.  You can also try it without adding the cayenne pepper, but I haven’t tried it so not sure how well it will turn out.
